Although reflection papers focus on the writer’s personal feelings and experiences, they often require multiple sources and frequent use of concrete examples. Often, students involved in experiential classes or capstones such as internships or practicums find reflection papers invaluable for synthesizing their theoretical knowledge with their applied experience. Learning how to write a reflection paper helps you organize your thoughts methodically and gain more from practical experience.Step 1Provide a brief summary. Write a narrative of your experience with the topic upon which you are reflecting. Detail factual information, as well as your feelings and impressions. In this step, ask yourself the question ‘Is this relevant to my life?’Step 2Compare your experience with your prior knowledge. Introduce any ideas that you had encountered. Point out why you feel the concept pertains to the experience. For instance, if you are reflecting on a lesson plan you had taught, you could discuss articles that you have read on writing and teaching lesson plans.Try to answer the question, ‘Why should I bother with this?’Step 3yze your experience according to the theoretical concept. Illustrate the ways in which your experience diverged from what the theory expects as well as how closely it conformed to theoretical expectations. Discuss why you feel the theory either described or did not describe your experiences. In this part, respond to the inquiry, ‘How will I apply this to my journey as a future educator?’Step 4Edit your reflection paper. Look for the thesis of your paper. Adjust your paper to keep a consistent focus on that thesis. Check for grammatical and stylistic errors. At this point, type what you have written in your portfolio at our class blog https://cebuedtech1.wordpress.com/.Credit to the author Sean Butrner. Among the usual barrage of personal posts of virtual friends in the said social networking site, I was particularly struck by one saying “kelangan ba talaga prezi presentation?” To think that only a select number of people had been introduced to Prezi, this post had a direct connection to me since in the College of Teacher Education in the school where I educate, I am not aware about any other instructors who utilize the said presentation editor. I was honestly disheartened by this since I am quite sure that what I am introducing, unlike other school stuffs, can be very useful for aspiring educators if taken seriously and mastered promptly. This brings me to the issue of Reluctant Students in a learning process. This condition is defined from an article in the Internet as “one who is not interested in life at all, is not interested in what you are teaching, and is not able to learn in the time-frame or manner of presentation” according to Joyce M. Herzog. What made this alarming is that the statement came from a wannabe educator who is taking up a course in Education. Furthermore, the subject concerned is on Educational Technology – a subject that should equip upcoming tutors with tools that can be used in a learning environment when it’s time for them to be in charge of a class. The person concerned might be oblivious to the fact that one of the primary functions of a teacher is to be a good communicator, a task that can be enhanced with appropriate technologies. That’s where Prezi comes in.When I was still an education student, I had a dream to use tools that could help me every time I present information and ideas to my colleagues. But the sad thing is that these technologies were out of reach for me that time. With Powerpoint only available at Internet cafes and with no extra money to pay for it (a desktop and a notebook is obviously out of the question), I ended up using papers stuck to the boards just like everybody else. Looking back I wished that somebody could have told me about Prezi, a presentation editor wherein texts, pictures & videos could be weaved together in a beautiful zooming and panning motion with the hopeful feeling that the audience might actually get what you’re telling them. Prezi could have been just the solution to my problems at that time if only somebody had introduced me to it yet nobody did.“Wow!” was the word after I’ve seen a Prezi presentation at the University of San Carlos. In an instant I discerned that this could help me a lot in my work and it did. That realization that only the more serious aspiring educators could come up to, the insight that, yes this could be a great help for me. And yes, I will share this awareness to my students in the faith that they too will reach the same conclusion. Until I’ve read, “Kelangan ba talaga Prezi Presentation?”It’s too early to whine, to complain, and to be a reluctant student. I am requiring you to explore the much mentioned presentation editor. It might cost you some money but I believe that once you’ve learn it your classroom presentations will shine above a sea of mediocrity. I am not your enemy here, I request that you take a look at the mirror if you want to see who that might be. You have chosen this path – to be an educator not a whining child uncertain of what she really wants in her life. Throw that reluctance away, it might be your greatest enemy. To quote Thomas Fuller, “Nothing is easy to the unwilling.”Seconded.What is Educational TechnologyThe word “technology” comes from the Greek word “techne” which means art or craft so it refers to the art or craft which can make the our quality of education to the advance level. Educational Technology has a very broad term. For us, it is the application of scientific findings in our method, process or procedure of working in the field of education in order to affect the quality of learning in our school. It embraces curriculum and instructional designs, learning environment and theories of teaching or learning. There are terms that are associated with Educational technology like Technology in Education, Technology Integration, and Educational Media. Is Educational Technology is relevant and how is it use? Right now, educational technology plays an important role specially in education. Furthermore it is very helpful to us being a future teachers. It will help us to make things easier and can catch more attention to your students. For example, you’ll have your lessons be presented, instead of having it in a traditional way which is writing it in a manila paper or on the board you will use prezi which is more animated and can make our student not to be bored. Technology is really a big help to improve our quality of education. As a future teacher, we must know how to use our latest technology as aid in our teaching. It is a really big help to us teachers if we know how to improve our teachings through this technology. But we should keep it in our mind that it is not in technology we use will depend our student’s future. We should keep it in our mind that us human teacher is still the best teacher. Technology can help us to improve our teaching but it never replace our role being a teacher.Technology; Boon or Bane?Boon means something that is useful or we can say that is a blessing while bane do the opposite way which is a curse. Technology is a boon or a bane? Well, we use technology in many ways. Some are very important like having a communication to other people which are in the other place. Some people use it as a threat to others so is technology a boon or bane? For us technology is both boon and bane because others use it in good while others in a bad way. For example, we consider it as boon because it can really make our life more convenient and can help ease our miseries in life. Like in communication in our relatives or loved ones that are far from us or in a simple things like baking cookies. We also consider technology as bane because some of us use it to harm other people like using social media to make other people’s life to be destroy like having a bad information or comments to other people. Some are not intending to use technology in a harmful way but it can damage our environment like the wastes that are thrown in the factories.Technology is created for a good reason. It is just us people on how we use it. Some use it in a good way and some are not. Some are do not intend to harm others but it’s just the product of what we call technology. On what way we use technology it still only us will receive the results. Educational technology contributes a useful training for us a future teachers. Our goal is to aim the boundary of education as we go with the flow of the modernization. To teach the students using the reliable technique and methods for their learning. To obtain this goal, we must undergo first into a hard concentration of this subject, that will produce a well trained teacher. Therefore educational technology is necessary for us the learners. Furthermore technology is part of instructional technology which in turns are also part in educational technology. It engage devices and tools to execute the learning. Through this new inventions, it is easy for us teachers to teach broadly the information we get on it towards the students. For students convenience and fast learning , they must involve to this technology in relate to educational study. Somehow, who are aware with this brand new ways and processes then the learning will be elevated. As a future teacher soon, we must surmount the challenges in this field. when we future teacher are well-geared enough involving in this technology, then we can produce a superb students. However the learning of the students are all depend from the teacher. If students just patronize the skills of the technology, the result will be less of moral values and also social values. As we came from in a cultural school,we future teachers will apply the values and cultures to the students even in their modern lives.
