As owners take receipt of their purchases, 2015 will be marked significantly by the arrival of the Kawasaki Ninja H2/R supercharged sport bikes.Kawasaki has assured us that it won’t take much tinkering for the H2 street bike to meet the performance specs of the H2R, a fact many deriders of the machine seem to forget when spec-sheet racing. We are perhaps disappointed that Kawasaki made owning a Ninja H2 and Ninja H2R such an exclusive process, as it robs us of the chance to see some extreme concepts and customizations from the motorcycling community.Take this streetfighter concept of Kawasaki Ninja H2R by AD Koncept, for instance. Pure brawny muscle, the H2 surely has the makings of being the ultimate streetfighter. We especially like how the H2R’s long air intake into the supercharger is highlighted by the absence of fairings. The extreme angles, a part of Kawasaki’s recent design language, work well with the streetfighter aesthetic, making for a bike you would not want to meet in a dark alleyway. With minimal work, this could be the 300hp hooligan bike of your dreams, assuming you could afford the $50,000 price tag, of course.Up-Close with the Kawasaki Ninja H2R:Source: AD Koncept via Moto-Station; Photos: © 2014 Jensen Beeler / Asphalt & Rubber – Creative Commons – Attribution 3.0I would DEFINITELY want to ride that.“Kawasaki has assured us that it won’t take much tinkering for the H2 street bike to meet the performance specs of the H2R”This is an incorrect statement. You will not be able to buy the ECU, cams, exhaust or anything else exclusive to the “R” if you only own the street version. They have measures in place that state you can not buy these parts, like you could with spares for any other bike, unless you have definitive proof of current ownership of an “R.”So, any hopes of getting the street bike up to 300 HP will be done through the aftermarket only. Something I doubt you will see beyond an exhaust system and K&N filter as there aren’t going to be any of these available for an aftermarket company to get a hold of a keep around the shop for development. Especially given the strict 15 hours of use above around 8,000 rpms before the next service interval. Not that it even comes with a warranty that could be voided if you didn’t.Darth Vader minus the helmet. If Bob is correct (and I think he is), the new H2 will be much ado about very little. The 207 HP figure is approached by a number of other 2015 superbikes that weigh and cost significantly less. Once the journalists get their hands on one of these we’ll know.Guys…c’mon. I’m sure Bob is correct, but there are ways around that. Hit up a Kawi forum or a dealership and just ask an owner of an H2R to procure the items for you. Problem solvedIf this would come out. ktm isnt worth the name beast anymore. puppy would be betterThe seat reminds me of a Japanese techno-toiletLooks-wise it’s an improvement over the cartoonish stocker.I dare say that’s how it should come from the factory: naked, just like the original H2!GAWD! I just saw the image of it from the other (uglier) side. ‘Homage to racing Star-fish’ or ‘Captain America’… you decide.that’s was awesome, more brutality than Z1000Enter your email address to subscribe to Asphalt & Rubber, and to receive notifications of new posts by email.
