The structure is conceived as an extension to the garden at Inverleith Terrace, Edinburgh the organic form embraces a 5 tonne boulder and provides a point of interest to both garden visitors and walkers. Composting Shed is constructed using a technique similar to traditional willow weaving. This weaving technique allow air and sunlight pass naturally through the structure providing ventilation for composting while creating unique light patterns which change constantly throughout the day.composting shed, edinburghcomposting shed, edinburghcomposting shed, edinburghThe construction method minimises any impact on the ground and surrounding mature woodland as the vertical reinforcing rods are driven straight into the ground rather than using traditional foundations.composting shed, edinburghcomposting shed, edinburghcomposting shed, edinburgh Ernesto Neto, Pantheon, Paris Ernesto Neto, Pantheon, ParisErnesto Neto works with abstract installations which often take up the entire exhibition space. His materials are gossamer-thin, light, stretchable fabrics in nylon or cotton. Like fine membranes fixed to the ceiling by long, stretched threads his works hang down into the room and create shapes that are almost organic. Inside the building a peaceful courtyard takes the place of a lost medieval cemetery. The sixteen exhibition rooms possess the most varying qualities with regard to incoming daylight, size, proportion und pathways. What they all have in common is the reduced materiality of the brick, mortar, plaster and terrazzo in front of which will appear the works of art.” peter zumthor, kolumba art museum peter zumthor, kolumba art museumCreate a free website or blog at WordPress.com.
